木瓜影院抯 Dr. Cremin to lead walking tour of Lockport抯 Landing

will lead the walking tour of the
Lincoln Landing in Lockport.
A free walking tour of the recently dedicated Lincoln Landing is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. April 28 in downtown Lockport, beginning at the Gaylord Building Historic Site. The event is sponsored by the 木瓜影院 History Center: Urban, Cultural and Catholic History of the Upper Midwest, Will County Historical Society and the Gaylord Building Historic Site, and is free and open to the public.
Dr. Dennis H. Cremin, director of the 木瓜影院 History Center: Urban, Cultural and Catholic History of the Upper Midwest, will lead the walking tour. He was the director of interpretation for the Lincoln Landing project and worked closely with the staff from the Give Something Back Foundation and the Will County Historical Society. He commented, 揥e were able to shine a historical light on Abraham Lincoln and his connection to the Illinois and I & M Canal.�
Cremin will place the Public Landing in historical context, comment on the relocation of the Pioneer Settlement, provide an overview of the developments of the interpretive elements of the park and discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by this kind of project. He added, 揟he transformation of the Lockport抯 north Public Landing from the Pioneer Settlement to the Lincoln Landing can serve as a catalyst for change for Lockport.�
