The Gaylord Building Historic Site and the ľ¹ÏÓ°Ôº History Center are partnering to mark the 10th Anniversary of Lockport’s Lincoln Landing. The programming begins on July 1, 2019 with the opening of the Lincoln’s Legacy exhibit which includes “A Man of His Time, A Man for All Times,” from the Waukegan Historical Society, and other displays. The Lincoln’s Legacy exhibit will be on view through September 30, 2019.

On July 17, Erin Carlson Mast will present stories that illuminate President Lincoln’s time at the Cottage in Washington, D.C. and how the historic site continues his fight for freedom and serves as a “home for brave ideas” today. Mast is CEO and Executive Director of President Lincoln’s Cottage in Washington, DC. She led the organization through growth, groundbreaking programming, and significant recognition, including a Presidential Medal. A national leader, Mast has written scholarly articles and was a contributing author to Museums of Ideas: Commitment and Conflict. She holds an MA in Museum Studies from The George Washington University and a BA in History from the Ohio University Honors Tutorial College.

The dinner/lecture event will begin with cocktails at 6:00 pm, dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, and the lecture will begin at 7:30 pm. Visitors can also view the Lincoln’s Legacy Exhibit, marking the 10th Anniversary of Lincoln Landing, from 5:00– 6:15 pm.
