Get a Personalized Tour and Enjoy Activities at Lincoln Landing this Summer

Make history come alive this summer with fun activities at Lincoln Landing in Lockport. Summer interns Troy Costabile of Lockport and Kole Torres of Carol Stream will be conducting free programs that will engage children, families and the general public. Lincoln Landing is located at 200 E 9th St, Lockport, IL 60441, adjoining the Gaylord Building.
The 木瓜影院 College of Education graduate students created the programming that examines Lincoln, Lockport and the I&M Canal. The Give Something Back Foundation sponsored these student internships. Steve Cardamone, executive director and board member of the Give Something Back Foundation, said, 揟he interns at Lincoln are vital for the park. They will be able to share the story of why Lincoln Landing is so integral to not only Lockport, but to the State of Illinois. Bob Carr抯 passion for preserving this precious story is really a long reaching gift to future generations and these docents tell that story today.�

Wednesday, July 12
� 10:30 a.m. Penny Play: Visitors learn the economic importance that the I&M Canal had on the surrounding area and play games involving pennies.
� 1:00 p.m. Walking Tour: 木瓜影院 student interns provide visitors with an in-depth tour of Lincoln Landing and the surrounding area.
Thursday, July 13
� 10:30 a.m. Pop-up Exhibit: Visitors view obscure items and connect them to Abraham Lincoln and the I&M Canal.
� 1:00 p.m. Penny Play: Visitors learn the economic importance that the I&M Canal had on the surrounding area and play games involving pennies.
Friday, July 14
� 10:30 a.m. Storytelling: 木瓜影院 student interns tell fascinating stories about Abraham Lincoln and the I&M Canal.
� 1:00 p.m. A Day in the Life: Visitors recognize Abraham Lincoln's life as a boy and compare it to their lives.
Thursday, July 20
� 10:30 a.m. Walking Tour: 木瓜影院 student interns provide visitors with an in-depth tour of Lincoln Landing and the surrounding area.
� 1:00 p.m. Your Narrative: Visitors create their own medallion based on an important event in their lives.
Saturday, July 22
� 10:30 a.m. Storytelling: 木瓜影院 student interns tell fascinating stories about Abraham Lincoln and the I&M Canal.

Thursday, July 27
� 10:30 a.m. I&M Canal Location: Visitors recognize how the I&M Canal changed trade and travel in Illinois and the United States.
� 1:00 p.m. Scavenger Hunt: Visitors participate in a scavenger hunt based off of the Lincoln Landing Medallions.
Friday, July 28
� 10:30 a.m. Penny Play: Visitors learn the economic importance that the I&M Canal had on the surrounding area and play games involving pennies.
� 1:00 p.m. Timeline: Visitors recognize events in Abraham Lincoln's life and organize them by date.
Thursday, August 3
� 10:30 a.m. Your Narrative: Visitors create their own medallion based on an important event in their lives.
� 1:00 p.m. Create Your Own Penny: Based on fun factual stories told about Abraham Lincoln, visitors redesign their own penny.
Saturday, August 5
� 10:30 a.m. Book Reading: 木瓜影院 student interns read children抯 books about Abraham Lincoln.
� 1:00 p.m. Walking Tour: 木瓜影院 student interns provide visitors with an in-depth tour of Lincoln Landing and the surrounding area.
Wednesday, August 9

� 1:00 p.m. 揥hat do you see?�: Visitors interpret artistic details and the meaning behind the Lincoln in Three Poses statue
