Cremin and Keleher Attend Lasallian Seminar for Professors

Dr. Dennis H. Cremin, professor of and director of the ľ¹ÏÓ°Ôº History Center, and Jason Keleher, associate professor and chair of , attended the Lasallian Summer Seminar for Professors July 27-29. The theme of this year’s Lasallian Summer Seminar for Professors was: “The Challenges of Lasallian Higher Education in the 21st Century.”

The ľ¹ÏÓ°Ôº educators joined faculty from other Lasallian Institutions including Bethlehem University in Palestine, Christian Brothers University in Memphis, La Salle University in Philadelphia and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

“This was a superior group of scholars, who seriously considered the idea of ‘crisis’ from a number of perspectives. This included issues regarding student preparation for university-level courses, student portfolios, the challenges of Lasallian education in an increasingly secular society,” said Cremin. He continued, “All of the participants drafted scholarly papers, and we received solid feedback from the group.”

Brother Robert Smith, FSC, Ph.D, chief academic officer and vice president of the Schools of Graduate and Professional Program, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and Dr. Timothy Gossen, vice president for Mission, Saint Mary University of Minnesota, hosted the scholars.
